The painting depicts thoughts about the current world, drawing a parallel with the legend of Mahishasurmardini, i.e. good prevailing over evil. Parts of the world around us are falling apart, and many people are losing hope for the future. However, much of this earth still seeks the silver lining, and puts hope into their faith, be it religion or humanity. This painting embodies Ma Durga, holding a new world, a better world for everyone. She is coming out of a broken, dull earth that has fractured from abuse. Ma Durga gives us hope that we the people can repair many of the problems our world faces today. She inspires us to be that catalyst of change.
